Song : Maaeri(Hindi); Album : Euphoria’s Phir Dhoom (2000)

April 9, 2008

This is one song which I could sing even in deep sleep; atleast thats what people say. Thats because, anywhere I go, if asked to sing, this would be the first song that I would attempt. and yes, it indeed is a special song for so many other reasons.

Trivia :

In fact, I learned this song out of a challenge. I have this habit of yelling at home and call it high pitch singing and once this song was aired on TV, my cousin Sandeep said, ” Now this is one song that you cant attempt. It is too high pitched towards the end.” Sandeeps statement pinched me at the wrong place and so I decided to give it a try. Ever since that, like I mentioned, this has become a national anthem for me. Thanks to Sandeep !

Palash Sen, the lead singer of Euphoria, during one of his concerts in Chennai(I think it is IIT Sarang) came up with the fact that he had originally made this song keeping all the mothers in mind. He also stated that even the lyrics at some portions in the song point to a mother. He even dedicated this song to all the mothers present at that time in the event before singing. Wonder then why the band had to change the perspective of the song after it was created !!!

To listen in a better way :

  • Please wait till the entire song streams.
  • Try using a headset/earphone for the overall sound clarity.

    Hi Vimmuuu,
Really nice one!Eagerly waiting for more music from ur end. You have the voice to make it big. Especially as u can sing songs of different genres with ease. U hv proved that , as ur first post and this one are totally of a different genre..Keep it up buddy…. U hv a distinct style of singing and so i dont want to compare it with the original and underrate ur talent.. Ur voice rocks!!.

my aniya vimu… u continue to impress me. God bless you! This happens to be my favourite song.

You were conscious when you started to sing and slowly you got hold of the right feeling… You have the gift.. its totally upto you if you want to take it to the next level.

Talent is not aquired. The ‘technical’ is. I hope you will take it seriously.

    Proud of you
    Satch

    @ poonam:

    Thanx blogmate.
I record it in my home; my lappie(btw, thts wht i call my laptop) and a panasonic mic. I have this software with edits the music. Sometimes, the vocals cuts on a click, but there are songs tht requires atleast half an hr to edit to make it sound good.
