Song : Mungaru Malaye; Movie : Mungaru Male (2007)

October 11, 2008

Well, this is going to be the first song that I am going to dedicate to someone in the blogosphere. I was waiting for an opportunity to post this love song and thats when I came across someone whos so much in lovvve that he keeps trying all possible ways to express his love through his blog. who else? our very own love struck mirror-cracked, Nikhil.

Nikhil, buddy, we wish you all the best for your love and we are all waiting for the news!!! (Please, dont hunt me if this song brings in any negative reactions!)

The lyrics can be found here.

Trivia :
Its a whole new effort from my end, I do not understand head and tail of Kannada language and I seriously dont know how my diction is. The original singer is Sonu Nigam, and I hope he has sung it with proper pronounciations as he was my only reference. So, Kannadigas, if I had mispelt any of the words making them sound offending, please pardon me.

This is the first Kannada song that I ever listened to and it was my current boss, Mr.Vijay Shankar, who referred me this song. Believe me, the music and the flow of the lyrics are so magical that I fell in love with the song the moment I heard it. A fine example of language not being a barrier for music.

To listen in a better way:

  • Please wait till the entire song streams.
  • Try using a headset/earphone for the overall sound clarity.

I should say you create the magic with the proper recording…
    The modulations are pretty…
Being in Karnataka for the past six years I can’t sing one sentence properly…
    You reach new heights everytime..
    Keep going Machaaan……

    Really enjoyed.

Lovely! You’ve sung the song beautifully. You should try singing ‘Anisuthide Yaako Indu’ from the same movie. It’s sung by Sonu Nigam as well. Diction is almost perfect. I can guarantee you that you are not offending any of the kannadigas by singing this song. Dude, we are proud of you πŸ™‚

    @ Oxy :

Oh great. Do let me know a few Kannada songs, its fun trying other language songs.

    @ Varun :

Thanks a lot Varun. Iam glad that u mentioned about the diction. My friend Reeta has been asking me for a very long time about ‘Anisuthide’. Im just waiting for the perfect time to start it.

    @ Harsha :

Song noted. Is it by any chance a very old song? ‘cuz since I create the karaokes myself, its difficult to cut the voice for pretty old numbers. and three times???woah! Thanks a lot man.

    @ Reeta :

Thanks a lot Reets.Going by Varun and Harshas words, I guess the diction was ok and now Im confident in trying other Kannada songs. The first one being Anisuthide which you had been asking me for a very long time.

Thanks Smita. It was so nice of you to listen to it inspite of not knowing the language. Will be uploading a Hindi next.

    @ Vinz :

Thanks a lot man. Thats a beautiful song and I tried creating a karaoke; I couldnt. I hope I come across a karaoke for that somewhere on the net.

    @ Priya :

Thanks a lot Priya. You must have listened to this during your stay in Blore, na?

Yeah, if I dont try ‘Anisuthide’, my friend Reeta would murder me!!!

    @ Veena(chechi) :

Thanks a lot chechi. Im so glad that you listened to it inspite of the language barrier. Are you referring to the ‘Chella tumbile’ song from the same movie sung by Vineeth? Let me see if I can create a karaoke for that.

    @ Arvind :

Thanks a lot man, for all the wishes. Even I wish one day I could playback atleast once.

Heard it today. U r good. ur voice suits the song. The only hitch is the pronunciation of few words. Like ‘L’. In ‘Malaye’ u said it as plain ‘L’, but actually it’s ‘LD’. I hope u understand what I am saying. But u know that’s excusable as it is not ur mother tongue. But overall, its superb rendition. I am huge fan of Sonu and honestly if not better than u sang it equally good like him (not lesser than him in any sense).

I will send list of few good ones.

I just came across your blog…man, you are really really gifted!!! You know, you can be a very successful payback singer….there is a slight difference in the kannada diction, but even Sonu can’t sing it with absolute perfection πŸ™‚ ….I was really amazed to hear such a soothing voice…plz do try more songs and put it up here….would love to hear more (Anisutide for sure, as priya said…that song is magic) …

    @ Nick :

    Welcome to V-Lokam.

Thanks a lot man. That was sweet of you to listen to a song on your first visit itself. Will take care of the diction as even Oxy pointed it out. You could find my other songs in the blog itself under the label “This is how I heard them”. Do listen and let me know.
