    Surprisingly I am second?

  3. January 22, 2010 11:50 pm

My favorite from your list is from Delhi-6 and now when I hear sabziwalla, raddi-walla, phal-walla, carpet-walla passing by and shouting (half singing) I remember the same favorite song – Gainda Phool.
    What about Love Aajkal?

    • January 23, 2010 3:41 am

I didnt like Love Aaj Kal except for Aaj Dil Chaddeya, so mentioned that in the One song wonders ! 😀

  4. January 22, 2010 11:57 pm

I have just heard the songs of Delhi-6 and Love Aaj Kal in your list 😥 Gainda Phool, Masakali and Aaj din chadeya are my fave in these movies 🙂 Wait a minute ;?: I think I heard that rocket singh one while in Kolkata and hated it 😡

So no marriage mushy songs in your list…para…para 😉

    • January 23, 2010 1:22 am

        • January 23, 2010 3:43 am

Ohhh, that song will grow on you !! Check it out a few more times and you will be addicted to it ! 😀 😀

          Whatever !!! paara is paara !!! 😀 😀

  5. January 23, 2010 1:10 am

    How many languages you know/understand?
Dev D is the best pick because it was all concept based 😉
And concept was by the young brain Abhay Deol.

    • January 23, 2010 3:44 am

LOL, I understand Hindi and all south languages except Kannada ! 😀

yeah, I can listen to the songs of Dev D any time ! 😀

  6. January 23, 2010 1:25 am

forget 2009! check out the songs from striker! Siddarth dude is just awesome!!

  8. January 23, 2010 1:28 am

    In Hindi Only delhi-6…

In tamil, I didn’t liked yogi and pokkisham much and also modhi vilayadu also… Other than that I loved all the albums in the list…
Didn’t you liked Aadhavan?? It’s my favorite… and also nadodigal film’s aadungada song….

    • January 23, 2010 3:48 am

You didnt like pokkisham ??? The others I can understand 😀 😀 😀

No…aadhavan was very repetitive according to me. Most of Harris Jayarajs song sound repetitive 😀 Only one song of Naadodigal appealed to me; that Shambo shiva shambo ! 😀 😀

  9. January 23, 2010 6:41 am

surprised that modi vilayadu is in u r top 10 .. and kunguma pottum la enna song irukku ? haven’t heard yogi and angaadi threru..GV Prakash is surely getting his act together.. liked his music in Ayirathil oruvan.. more than the songs the background score was awesome!.

    • January 23, 2010 7:09 am

Oh…is it becuz you didnt like Modhi Vilayaadu or is it becuz u liked it and no one else except now ??? 😀 😀 😀

Ohh, you havnt listened to Kungamapoovu ?? theres chinnanirasugal and then thers kadaloram !! awesome songs ! 🙂

Oh yeah, GV.Prakash is coming up great. He just bagged two hindi movies too !! waiting for it ! Aayirathil Oruvan songs and background were out of the world, the second half in particular ! 😀

  10. January 23, 2010 8:16 am

Loved the tracks of Wake up Sid; the one you featured in particular!

Presently, I’m real stuck with the fabulous “Vaarayo Vaarayo kadhal kola……….”
I just can’t stay away from listening to this @least 5 times a day! 🙂

    • January 24, 2010 1:10 am

      LOL !!! the romantic you !!! 😀 😀 😀 😀

The song starts off well, but then, according to me, it turned very repetitive. 🙂

  11. January 23, 2010 9:14 am

What about songs of Gulal??? They were fantabulous.

    • January 24, 2010 1:15 am

Ohhh ya. Really good songs. and guess what, I initally had another category-“the ones that couldnt make up in this list’-and gulaal was first in it. I had to take that category because I couldnt come up with the same for the rest of the languages. 😀

  12. January 23, 2010 9:53 am

Wow! You even listen to Telugu songs? that’s nice! I loved ur list and was not surprised that AR rahman features several times n the list! ! nice choices! 🙂

    • January 24, 2010 1:16 am

      🙂 🙂 Well, I dont put his name for nothing, you see 😀 😀 😀 😀

  13. January 23, 2010 12:23 pm

Gud list. Now, I can say I know some tamil songs – Chennai influence.

I even like the song in Aadhavan – Eno eno !!!

Oh, Shanthi, Shanthi from Varanam Ayiram – Thats a wonderful song with great lyrics.

    • January 24, 2010 1:25 am

Ok, since you came down to chennai only recently, you should be familiar with some of the Telugu songs also, na ? 😀

I didnt like any from aadhavan, cuz I found them repetitive. and vaaranam aayiram is from 2008. 😀 Oh, yeah, but the songs of VA are too good ! 😀

  14. January 23, 2010 3:25 pm

I know only the Hindi ones in this list…

And a couple of from Tamil and Malayalam… better I dont comment 😛 LOL

  15. January 23, 2010 6:09 pm

Sapnon se bhare naina is the only song I like from LBC. Delhi 6 has my all time fav Rehna tu! me loves!
Iktara is such a beautiful number. i can go on and on about that song. And I knew it couldnt be composed by Shankar ehsan loy. they can never come up with such an awesome track! Amit trivedi is my 2009 fav. whatte composer. I loved Nayan tarase from his Dev D.

great list. I have no clue about the other languages 😦

hey I r’meberd.. Hasili fisili and Yeno yeno from Aadhavan. you missed that. they are nice, no?

    • January 24, 2010 1:29 am

they had recently released tanother soundtrack of Wake Up Sid, one that includes all the background songs. It even has that Iktara male version which comes during the movie. check it out.

and I wouldnt say that about SEL. They have come up with several mindblowing tracks 🙂

For me, he was the composer onf 2008 too. Aamir had some awesome tracks.

Nope, I never liked Aadhavan songs. first of all, hasili fisili, with such kind of lyrics, no way !! 😀 and harris is so repetitive for me ! 😀

  16. January 23, 2010 9:36 pm

ohh vimmu …..seems our taste are entirely different 🙂

    My list – Hindi 1.Newyork 2.Tum mile 3.Wake up sid 4.Delhi 6 5.Billu 6.Blue 7.Ajab prem 8.Kurbaan 9. Acid Factory(loved the beats) 10. London dreams

Malayalam(don’t know much…..i remember only these songs) 1.Rithu(pularumo is one of my fav) 2.Sagar alias(again loved the beats) 3.Bhramaram 4.Robinhood(only priyanu mathram)
I don’t follow tamil and telugu songs

    • January 24, 2010 1:33 am

LOL, yes, they are different !! 😀 I couldnt stand Acid Factory and would never put New york as number one ! 😀

    January 24, 2010 12:25 am

you know almost all south indian languages!!!
the saddest part is that in 2009 not many good telugu movies were released which were worth watching!!!

Thank you for giving the reviews 🙂

    • January 24, 2010 1:40 am

Oh is that so ? So I guess, I wasnt bad enough with the list then ! 😀 😀

  18. January 24, 2010 2:44 am

I only know the Hindi albums from here. No clue about Tamil, Malayalam or Telugu.

From Hindi ones, Delhi 6 was definitely the best. Entire Album is a collection material.

Other songs I liked in 2009:

    1. Sapnon se bhare naina and Ye Hawaayein – Luck by Chance
    2. Ajj Din Chadeya and Ye dooriyaan – Love Aajkal
    3. O re duniya and Aisi Sazaa – Gulaal
    4. Ali Maula and Shukran Allah – Kurbaan
    5. Zoobie Zoobie – 3 Idiots (Peanut’s fav)

and finally this is one song that I listened in loop till Karthik calling Karthik happened. 🙂

Iktara – Wake Up Sid ( both versions – Punjabi version a bit more)

    • January 24, 2010 2:49 am

Pocket Mein Rocket Hain is one of the worst songs I have heard.

    • January 24, 2010 8:20 am

BTW Peanut’s version of Zoobie Doobie is ‘Scooby Doo Scooby Doo naache dumb…..’

    • January 25, 2010 1:03 am

Aisi Sazaa was a beautiful composition !! Somehow I couldnt listen to the songs of gulaal after two weeks of continuous loop and that is the reason why it didnt appear here in the list.

ohhh, pocket mein is kinda a personal song too, since Im into sales ! 😀

Scooby Dooo ??? ROFL !!! they should change the theme song of Scooby Doo to this !!! 😀 😀

  19. January 24, 2010 5:53 am

    Interesting choice in songs.
Unfortunetly I only know the hindi ones.
And suprisingly i agree with your choice. 😉

  20. January 24, 2010 1:30 pm

You know I look forward to your lists cuz after reading them I decide what songs to download and listen to! 🙂

    • January 25, 2010 12:56 am

      Seriously ???? I dont believe that !!! 😀 😀 😀

  21. January 24, 2010 1:38 pm

Super list.. esp. for people like me who dont get the opportunity to be up-to-date on latest Tamil releases..this is a great list. Any idea where I can download the songs in MP3 format?
Btw, too bad you didn’t sing even 2 lines for us the other day 😦 Very disappointed!

    • January 25, 2010 12:55 am

  22. January 24, 2010 6:08 pm

i just know the hindi ones… from there too haven’t heard many…

  23. January 24, 2010 9:43 pm

Nice collection of songs… *sheepish look*- i’ve not heard half the songs on your list…- hindi n tamil!! 😀 … Lets not even talk about the other languages!!! 😀

    • January 25, 2010 12:50 am

You have one of that new gadjets, na ? 😉 why dont you make use of it ? 😀 😀 😀

      • January 26, 2010 12:19 pm

        • January 27, 2010 4:06 am

yeah, dont make it so obvious that Im completely jobless ! 😀

  24. January 25, 2010 9:47 am

😀 For a change am quite late hehehe…

Vim : and for a change, I was happy not seeing you 😀 😀 😀

Coming to the list as expected am commenting on the Hindi ones and before I write anything more I shud thank you for bringing me back in scene. Yep! 2-3 yrs back (read before my mrrg) I used to but so so updated on music scene that I used to know which cassette is releasing when & even used to buy all the new ones. The passion continued with affordable MP3s but eventually I lost the touch & new songs for me was listening them on TV thats it. But thanks to you and at some level thanks to vee as well am back to my passion of music.

Vim : You are welcome. and for this gesture of mine, next time you meet me, get me something nice, not a book ! 😀

But what I can not understand here is the passion u guys have for Dev D. Last week we were travelling some where and Emotional Atyachaar came up, I cudn’t stand it for a min though I had liked it back then. Somehopw Dev D doesn’t have repeat value for me 😀

Vim : Donno; but the thought of Dev D songs itself elates me ! 😀

Delhi 6 surprisingly (Its ARR u see :D) I had loved.

    Vim : Yeah, whatever ! 😀

Luck By Chance & London Dreams are still palying on my shuffle and am yet to get over the songs of Luck by chance!!! Tum Mile I haven’t hard 😀 same goes for Wts ur Rashee. Kurbaan songs I liked when I heard them first but within a week the effect thinned out!!!

From Ajaab the song which I enjoyed the most was “Prem ki Naiya” 😀 (no need to tell me it’s crap)

Vim : Nahhh, after watching the movie, I liked the songs of Ajab more ! It went well with the movie ! 😀

Lova Aaj Kal I hadn’t liked on 1st hearing & then I fell in love with Aaj Din & Chor Bazaari 🙂

Iktara I had discovered very late but am in love with it now 😀

And yes the absence of one of my all time fav song has irked me big time, I know you will say this is YOUR PERSONAL LIST but still “Mamma Says” shud be shud be shud be here & am sure Vee will agree with me 😀

Vim :That isnt even a song ! Cant put dialogues as songs in this list ! 😀

Another song that I have fallen in love with was “Gimme some sunshine” 🙂

Nice list though :), all said & done ur taste in music is very very good 😀

    Vim : I know ! 😀 😀 😀

  25. January 25, 2010 11:44 am

Iktara wins for me in 2009 … I cn keep listening to it again and again .. its plain awesome! His composition, her voice 🙂 Me liked the male version too 🙂

Leader hs superb songs! I like one song from Magadeera too …panchadaara bomma bomma 😛 😛 I luv the composition 😉 😉 Sort of naughty, fun … mix of all those .. wonder if u got what I want to say 😀

    • January 25, 2010 1:18 pm

Make it Iktara + arziyan .. I luv both of them 😛
Cmg to albums as a whole, my pick wud be Dilli6, Blue and Ajab Prem ki …

      U liked Whatz ur Rashee?

    • January 25, 2010 3:41 pm

I like Mere Sang from New York too 😀

    • January 27, 2010 4:14 am

The male version of Iktara is available for download now ! 😀

I somehow didnt like the songs of Magadheera; just average for me. Bu Leader is simply awesome !

Yup, I found Whats your Rashee pretty good. I mean, composing 12 songs, out of which 10 are different situations too ! 😀

  26. January 25, 2010 12:46 pm

nice list man..though london dreams dint impress much…
and agree with the one song wonders..

    • January 27, 2010 4:11 am

alllloooooo…..you are alive???? You are coming here after centuries !!! 😀 😀 😀

Btw, I had nominated some of your posts for the Avante Garde awards last month ! 🙂

  27. January 25, 2010 4:07 pm

I didn’t like the songs from Blue, Kurbaan…
    The rest are fine… 🙂
As usual, Iktara and Tere Naina are still firm favorites!

    • January 27, 2010 4:10 am

      Hmmm…to each her/his own ! 😀

Iktara is one of the best things that happened to the film industry last year ! 😀

  28. January 26, 2010 12:17 pm

I am not familiar with many of the new songs, but your list of ‘one song wonder’ is best. I downloaded all these songs and is in a cd now, both Hindi and Tamil. Your taste is very good!

  29. January 26, 2010 1:09 pm

That s a good list for me to download….. thanks…!!

Remember me? i was once a regular visitor of ur blog 😀

    • January 27, 2010 4:08 am

Of course, I remember you !!! where were you ????? are you back to blogging ??? 😀 Please say yes ! 😀

  30. January 27, 2010 11:44 am

Your Hindi one-song-wonder list is smashing..I love all of them 🙂
Tere Naina is so so hummable, alle? Its sad the movie didnt fare well.

I loved all the songs of London Dreams too..esp ‘jo
tujhe jagaaye’..Shankar Mahadevan and Rahet Fateh jugalbandi was classic…

  31. January 27, 2010 11:49 am

I havent heard the malayalam and Tamil lists yet 😦 …will get down to hearing them soon..thanks for sharing,Vims
