Song : Irumbile; Movie : Endhiran -Robot (Tamil 2010)

September 27, 2010

Ahaaa…its promotion time again !!!

My last attempt at promoting a movie (Whats your Rashee??) went down the drains; not my fault though. I knew it wouldn’t work! The film was horrible and was a torture to sit through for 3.5 hrs watching 12 Priyanka Chopras.  Harman, surprisingly, was better in the movie as compared to his sci-fi debut :P.

Aaah, who cares, atleast my first promotion (Wanted) worked well at the box office ! 😀 😀 😀

Well, this time, I am sure about the success of the movie. For crying out loud, its ENDHIRAN (ROBOT), how can I ever go wrong with the promotion for this movie??  Can a movie get bigger than this ? Going by the looks of the promos, this is definitely Indias best sci-fi movie ever ! Never has graphics looked good on screen for an Indian movie before and Endhiran, for sure, will be treated as a benchmark for all the sci-fi that comes out of our country henceforth, oh yeah, even for SRKs Ra.One !

FYI, this is my first attempt at a techno song and also my first attempt at getting my voice digitalized ( in the portion that goes ‘iRobo un kaadhil, I love you sollatta’). Originally sung by the maestro himself along with Kash’n’Krissy who handles the rap portions. During the final editing, I added an extra echo effect at the end of a particular high note in the song. Apparently, it isn’t there in the original, but since that extra effect turned out good in my version, I decided to include it. You will realize the difference only when the song is listened through a headset or an earphone. Anyway, lemme know how it is. And please, I am not fishing for compliments, but yes I am, for opinions and suggestions ! 😀 😀 😀 😀

Suggestions :

  • Please wait till the entire song streams.
  • Try using a headset/earphone for the best sound clarity

Coming back to the movie, there are a few negative thoughts about the movie that I wanted to address, like  :

1 ) A.R.Rahman music is not upto the expectations. I personally feel that the music is simply perfect for the movie. And this is not because I am his ardent fan. I hated the music of Raavan(an) and was quite vocal about it. It’s a sc-fi movie and I don’t think one should expect a ‘Kadhal Rojave’ (Roja Jaaneman) or a ‘Humma Humma’ here. Except for a song that goes ‘Boom Boom Robo Da’, I am in love with the rest and I am pretty sure all the songs will ignite the screen along with its picturisation. We should consider the fact that ARR would’ve had a lot of creative restrictions while composing the album like keeping the superstars image and fan base in mind,  to not go overboard with his music so that the masses and classes could enjoy them equally and also make it commercially viable. Some may argue that ARR had given better music in the past and he has lost his magic now; but if you had noticed, his music has always been in sync with the screenplay and has never failed to provide a gem if the screenplay demanded so. However, my pick from the Endhiran album is ‘Pudiya Manidha’ and not the one I uploaded here!  ‘Pudiya Manidha’ has the living legend S.P.B, A.R.R and Khatija Rahman (ARRs daughter) handling the vocals and the song transports me to sci-fi world each time I listen to it. There is a particular line in the song that gives me goosebumps– ‘Karuvil Piranda Ellaam Marikkum, Arivil Pirandadu Marippadey Illai’ (Anything born out of cells die, but something that’s born out of creativity never die) How true, isnt it?

(((((((( While we are still at ARR, how many of you actually understood the dig I made at the maestro in my previous post? Very few, I believe, ‘cuz two of my fav readers couldn’t make it out and I had to explain it to them (insult) 😀 😀 😀 I am referring to these lines :

CB (whispering from the backstage) : psst..psst…vimmuuu….what are you doing? You are supposed to be humble when you accept an award.

Vimmuuu (covers the mike with his palm) : oh, I am sorry. Can I say something in my regional language and talk about my mom and god? Would that be humble enough?

Connect the above with what ARR said at the Oscars and you will know what I meant.

Phew !! )))))))))

2) The lead actor, Rajnikanth. Its become a fashion these days to make fun of Rajnikanth. The jokes are good and I appreciate them too, but my blood boils when anybody teases his appearance or his acting capabilities. They generalize him based on the role he chooses these days, his on-screen mannerisms and gravity defying stunts (on which I will come back later). Agreed, he is an actor with limitations, but I am sure that people who generalize him on the aforementioned have not watched any of those movies where he has proven himself as a reasonably good actor. Soon after the first poster of Endhiran was released in 2008, many, including me, felt that Rajnikanth is perhaps too old for the role and it should’ve gone to some of the younger stars. But I take back my words now, especially after watching the recent theatrical promo! As actor Abbas states in the movie ‘Padayappa’, “Whaaat a man!!” 😀 😀 😀 😀 Only Rajnikanth could pull it off and the role is tailor made for him, no doubt! To be honest, I am not a great fan of Rajnikanth myself, but I just can’t take my eyes off him when he appears on screen. The guy is above 60 years of age and one just can’t ignore his screen presence and charisma even today. That’s what we call a superstar, right?

3) Endhiran will be just another Indian movie of no logic, bad graphics and with people flying all over. I shouldn’t be commenting on this for the obvious reason that I haven’t watched the movie. But then, if people can judge a movie based on its promos, I guess I can speak in defense for the movie too. If the movie delivers what it promises, then I am sure to like it. Personally, Rajnikanths ‘Sivaji’ didn’t work for me. I felt the movie failed big time for all the hype that was generated and set its expectations too high with the unique combination of Director Shankar, A.R.R and the Superstar (oh, btw, I am indebted to the movie, for it’s the review that I had written for Sivaji that got me to the blog world!) Again, I had issues only with the loop holes in the screenplay and nothing else. But I have to admit, I am more matured as a movie watching person than I was three years ago. I now feel that a movie should be watched knowing what it is all about. If you expect logic in a David Dhawan or a Priyadarshan movie, then its your fault. If you expect an entertaining movie from a director like Adoor Gopalakrishnan, then you are to be blamed. Endhiran is a sci-fi movie and if somebody expects the movie to be realistic and logical, then that somebody should be watching a sci-fi whenever Shyam Benegal or the likes ever plan to direct one. A few of them I know are already nitpicking the love angle of the Robot in Endhiran (yes, Rajnikanths Robot Avatar falls in love with Aishwaryas character).  Some of them were found laughing at the scene where the Robot Rajnikanth pulls out 1000 guns; they say, “how is it possible even for a robot to do such stuffs?”. But what I fail to understand is that, the same folks can appreciate a Rambo killing thousands of militants without having to face even one bullet, or a movie where cars turn into huge robots, or a movie with a cyborg coming from future to save some kid, or a movie where dinosaurs are recreated from the DNA of mosquitoes! We are hypocrites, lets face that first. We do not know how to appreciate our own movies and go ga-ga over the ones made in any other country. We speak volumes on movies made in Korea, Iran, Seychelles, and Uganda, but do not care for the ones made in India; and yes, India is not Bollywood alone, there are a lot of other regional movies too. And it really irritates when people compare our movie to the ones made in Hollywood in terms of graphics. The amount those guys spent on their CGI is equal to one movie that we produce here and the Hollywood biggies recover their costs easily since they have a larger audience.  We applaud a ‘MATRIX’ (oh, the audience loved it when people fly all over in this movie) or an ‘INCEPTION’, but call Anurag Kashyap a crazy man for a well made ‘NO SMOKING’.

Anyway, I am all thrilled for the D-day; Oct 1st, but watching the movie first day first show will only remain as my dream now 😦 😦 How many of you lucky souls are watching it atleast in the first week ?

Btw, I hope you all listened to that poor song thats uploaded up there ! 😀 😀

  5. September 27, 2010 5:28 pm

    I liked Scorpria’s idea of a V-Bashing contest 🙂

Your singing is amazing! I can’t help get amazed everytime I listen to your singing.

As for your defence of the movie – well, I can’t help agree. We are more than happy accepting some things from certain sources than from others. I haven’t watched a single Rajnikanth movie – but having said that, if somebody is so popular, he must have something.

‘but I just can’t take my eyes off him when he appears on screen.’ – This is something I have heard from lots of people who are not his fans.

As for the movie, I am quite sure that I am not very likely to watch it – given my sad movie watching record 🙂

And congrats on all your awards 🙂 This is a good month for you 🙂

    • September 30, 2010 6:43 am

Yeah, I want to be part of that contest too ! 😀 😀 I hope she lets me in ! 😛

      Thanks for listening ! 😛

oh smitha, you seriously have to watch atleast one movie of Rajnikanth to know the phenomenon that he is ! 😀

      I know; pretty good month ! 😛

  6. September 27, 2010 6:02 pm

    😉

    • September 29, 2010 1:20 pm

You are one gifted singer 😛 😛
Enjoyed listening to the song 😀 😀 😀
      Keep ’em coming 😀

      • September 30, 2010 6:44 am

Your laptops been dying quite often these days ! What are you feeding it ? 😀 😀 😀

Thanks CB for listening ! it must have been greek and latin for you ! 😀

        • October 2, 2010 5:50 am

My laptop has recently had an over-dose of my blogging addiction and succumbed under pressure 😥 😥
Though it’s (my laptop and not my brain  ) lot better and healing well away from home, where I am over-busy with work despite being located in a gorgeous tourist hot spot 😦 😦 😦

Na it wasn’t Greek or Latin for me for those I do understand in bits and pieces, I’d say it was rather Malayalam and Tamil for me that I don’t follow a word 😆 😉 😆

  7. September 27, 2010 6:40 pm

Exactly my thot, Priya….I was actually re-reading the whole post to see whether its Vlokam !!! Such a sensible post, full of sensible words and sentences…WOW, Spidey…you amazed me. 😉 😉

Anyway, I know, if u put ur mind to it, you can write better posts than the nonsense bathroom ones… 😉 😉

ARR is a wonderful composer and I like the way he experiments with music for different kinds of movies…love his music. 🙂

I am a gr8 Rajini fan….just look at the way he handles a movie even at this age, while the others have fallen back long time back. I love the way his movies are totally entertaining to the whole family. Why, the Japanese watch his movies crazily, I heard…. 😉

No first day, first show, huh ???? You went for Dabanng, not for this huh ???? Tamizhan endru sollada, talai nimirndhu nillada, Rajini padathukku mudhalil sellada….ha ha ha… 😉 😉

    • September 27, 2010 6:50 pm

WOW…your voice has got some extra thing, in this song…did u do something ??? 😉 But its damn neat and wonderful singing, Vimmuuu… 🙂 🙂 Or probably to suit the Robotic music and all, the words are pronounced like that… 🙂 Like it…listening to this for the first time and its very good…. 🙂 🙂

    • September 27, 2010 10:55 pm

I object UmaS!!! I for one love love love his bathroom posts. Can’t imagine living without his bathroom stories 😥 Call me mad, but yup those posts are more than entertaining for another bathroom lover like me

      • September 28, 2010 2:12 pm

LOL…if u give such open comments on liking his bathroom posts, OMG, I am scared at how many bathroom posts are going to come out of this happy bathroom loving Spidey !!! 😉 LOL !!!

        • September 30, 2010 3:00 pm

@ uma : see, there are lots like you who write sensible post. After reading all that, my brain gets taxed and all that comes out are those bathroom posts 😀 😀 😀 😀 for which I have a fan now 😀 😀 😀 thanks sakshi; you are my new best blog friend ! 😀

Im relocating today to kerala; so have to give this a miss 😦 what to do !! sigh !

I did incorporate a few effects on the whole song to create a different feel 🙂

Umaaa…dont worry, I shall update with new bathroom stories from Trivandrum…buhahhahahaha !! 😀

  8. September 27, 2010 6:56 pm

Wonderfully well rendered! This movie is being publicized with a great deal of hype! But I guess I will give it a miss!

    • September 30, 2010 2:52 pm

  11. September 27, 2010 11:07 pm

Need some fresh air to unscramble my brain after listening to your song, to comment like a normal Sakshi 😥 Damn your voice makes all my mean genes go into hibernation. 😡

Hey even if Rajni, Kamal Hassan, Johnny Depp is 100 am sure the movies they do will rock. At least they do try to do different roles.

Ps: Regional movies rock. I keep telling that to everyone here who writes off Indian movies as just dance and song!!! 😡

    • September 30, 2010 3:05 pm

      nooo…I like the normal sakshi….this sakshi isnt fun ! 😀 😀

and never ever compare Rajni and Kamal with that Depp guy ! Depp is chinna payyans in front of them ! 😀

yeah, but nobody listens to us when we talk about regional movies ! 😀

  12. September 27, 2010 11:41 pm

hey though i dint understand a word bt still enjoyed listening to your voice for sure…. 🙂 No matter what language you sing in, but your voice sounds gr8…. 🙂 🙂

            so, not a good plan!

            • September 30, 2010 3:07 pm

You didnt like Dabanggg??? cheyyy cheyyy !!! 😀 you are getting matured, I guess ! 😀

  14. September 28, 2010 12:21 am

I completely agree….trash our own movies….praise others’ sky high…complete hypocrisy..
And yes, Rajni rocks…have to agree… he actually is awesome in the trailers…
There isnt another like him on the planet..!

Sivaji was nothing great though…I also felt so. But yes, Rajni shud be judged from the movies in which he really ated…not this masala stuff….

As for your song…woohoo!!! 😀 enichu ichtapettachu!!! (no dont ask me what langauge! 🙄 ) I love the metallic/digitalized feel to the song and your voice….good change from the usual numbers u put up……

Wohoo…me wanna dance!!! 😀 U sing, me will do the dangannakka!! I’m calling cunny sis n dhiren for company!!!!!!! 😀 😀 😀

    • September 30, 2010 3:29 pm

Are you watching it somehow?? does it have a Tamil release there ??

Thanks for listening ! 😀 yeah, digitalised me ! 😀

Dance ??? oh no, did I mention about my back ache ?? 😀 😀

      • October 1, 2010 11:28 pm

not sure which version to watch…but I’m sure the original (Tamil) will be better than the dubbed, just to avoid the lip synching…
Problem is, tamil or malayalam movies dont last here beyond the first week. And I dont know if I can watch it either this weekend or the next. Let’s see…!

  15. September 28, 2010 1:19 am

Am definitely not watching the movie, unless someone comes up with a really good review! The song is passable though. You’ve sung well, as always! Btw, I wanna hear a song with Mallu accent. Please!!

    • September 30, 2010 3:29 pm

      Good for you 😀 😀

      Mallu accent as in a mallu song ? 😀 😀 😀 😀

  16. September 28, 2010 10:52 am

Entammo! Awesome!! You’ve done it so well. I don’t like you, but I love the way you sing. Buhahahahahahahahahahahaha 😀

I never had any liking for Rajnikant. I’ve seen some of his movies and felt it was torture. Even Sivaji. It was Shriya I was gaping at, in that one. But his passion and the way he carries off any damn role…well deserves respect 😀 No one else can/will do it!! Otherwise, I’ve always felt him to be a torture. So, am sure I’ll igve Robot a pass. Just personal preferences. I do not like him as an actor.

But offscreen, I’ve always respected him a lot. I think he’s a damn humble, down to earth person. Check this out 😉
    http://business.in.com/article/recliner/why-rajinikanth-rocks/17592/0
That last bit about him sitting atop his car with a ciggy in hand: I know that’s a true story since my dad was there too then…he saw it too 😉 And that bit about him giving back the money to the distributors…hats off! 🙂

    • September 30, 2010 3:39 pm

      Sheri…endengilum okke ishtamaanallo…madhi…enikkini chattaalum vendeeela ! 😀

Shriya??? i just hate her. She reminds me of a Chimpanzee ! 😀 😀 😀

Thanks for sharing the link; Whaaaat a maaan !!! 😀 😀

  17. September 28, 2010 12:21 pm

Vimmuuu saar!!! The song review will be, as usual, shared on ur V-mphony page!! 😀

    Vim : Im waiting ! 😀

Yeah, you surely cannot go wrong with the promo of this one! 😀 😀 😀 😀

    Vim : 😛 😛 😛 safe bet !

You *shudder* HATED his music for Raavan? 😥 I never got over Ranjha Ranjha… something about the music and Rekha’s voice together!!

Vim : Thats the only one I liked. But then, it didnt stay with me like the rest of his songs 😦

We should consider the fact that ARR would’ve had a lot of creative restrictions while composing the album like keeping the superstars image and fan base in mind
I agree…never even saw it like that till you pointed it out!

Haha! Your dig at Rahman in previous post, I only understood when I read EOG’s comment to it 😐

Vim : There goes one more fav reader in the list ! 😀

I totally agree on Rajni’s generalization being the pits!!!! Sure he’s done some films that defy all logic, but they mean those films to be like that – pure entertainment!! In fact, I would find chopras and johars of the world churning out more unbelievable stuff in the name of “family & love”

Vim : Ejjactly !!! People appreciate the kind of saccharine sweet love and family the chopras and johars ‘exhibit’ and thats all supposed to be believable too !!! 😀 😀 😀

His acting skills are def impressive. I esp loved him in Chaalbaaz with sridevi… he was a charm! 😀

    Vim : Oh yeah ! 🙂

Endhiran is a sci-fi movie and if somebody expects the movie to be realistic and logical, then that somebody should be watching a sci-fi whenever Shyam Benegal or the likes ever plan to direct one.
LOL! Well said Vimmuuu saar! I had the same views for Dabangg (which was full paisa vasool btw, I will watch it again, if a crowd of friends plan to go)

    Vim : I hope Dabangg still plays whenever I get to Mumbai ! whenever ! 😀 😀 😀

Btw, I hope you all listened to that poor song thats uploaded up there !
    ROFL! 😆
There are many options as response to this statement –
    a) It didn’t load
    b) Am in office
    c) Will hear later
    d) All of the above

Vim : LOL, after all that defending I did, I had a doubt if people would forget that song ! 😀 😀

Hugs for that song… the ‘robotising” of voice and all!!! There goes one more song I will not hear the original of!!! But it had less of Vimmuuu and more of female voice (yes, crafty is demanding 🙄 )

Vim : Yeah, she was cute, thats why 🙄

Will go watch this one 😀 may not be FDFS… but will!

  20. September 28, 2010 3:38 pm

    Hi Vimmuuu,

No doubt abt ur singing… As usual its good.. Had i been with u… I’d asked u to perform once we catch up for the night snacks in Synaptris.. Hope u remember those days …

Abt Superstar- I still remember the days u n me quarreling in Office.. abt him.. and abt Sivaji…
There are number of fans who are still interested to watch his movies thou its not a box office hit… n AM one AMONG them
FYI.. the floppest movie for Rajini was BABA and it collected 20 crores while for Vijay… the big hit was gilli were the collection was the same 20 crores.
Hope u saw the audio launches in you tube and TV’s , his simplicity rocks..

abt ARR- I dont have words to explain about his music nor am not Vimmuuu to describe abt it…Once again a big applause for all his songs …in ROBOT!

Anyways.. am unlucky… I ahve not got any tickets for ROBOT in Mumbai … Let me get back after the movie release…

    @ Vimmuuuu- Keep going.. 🙂

    • September 30, 2010 3:37 pm

LOL, glad you arent here anywhere near. How do I sing in a digitalised way ! 😀 😀 😀

yeah, we quarreled just after watching Sivaji 😀 😀 😀 but we also quarreled after Kuruvi and ATM ! 😀 😀 😀 😀

      and FYI, I liked baba ! 😀 😀 😀

Oh, Endhiran doesnt have a release there??? Fly to chennai man. You have been known to do such stunts, na ? 😀 😀

  21. September 28, 2010 5:32 pm

Is that your voice ?? wow!! I wouldnt have known if u hadnt said that it was .. semma high pitch song..Youve sung it very well.. I am not a great fan of ARR,but this album has been growing on me the more i listen to it .. I didnt knw u were this huge a fan of Rajini either..

    • September 30, 2010 3:31 pm

      Thanks for listening paatti 😀 😀 😀

I am sure you will like it even more while watching the movie ! 😀

  22. September 28, 2010 6:04 pm

‘We are hypocrites, lets face that first. We do not know how to appreciate our own movies and go ga-ga over the ones made in any other country. We speak volumes on movies made in Korea, Iran, Seychelles, and Uganda, but do not care for the ones made in India; ‘ I am astonished reading these lines from you, vimmuuu! I use the same words when I argue with my son! He somehow appreciates old songs without the keyboard but hates the current ones and movies…hmmm very rarely he appreciates some scenes!

Let me hear the song now…I am going to watch Enthiran at the theatre but after some days!

I have never watched Rajini’s movies in theatres except one movie, that too went alongwith my sis in law, when we visited her! Lateron started watching them in TV and now, I appreciate him for his acting too and dance movements…like Amitabh’s, Rajini’s dance movements are unique!

    Will continue…

    • September 30, 2010 3:35 pm

LOL, looks like most of the bloggers think alike !! 😀 😀 😀

Oh, you should watch them in the theatres; they are a lot fun ! why dont you try watching Endhiran in a theatre ?? 😀 D: 😀

dance movements too??? 😀 😀 😀 you sure do like Rajni then ! 😀

      • September 30, 2010 8:43 pm

Planning to book tickets, but after a few days!

What you say is correct, we have to grow with ARR’s music!

  23. September 28, 2010 7:22 pm

Nice promotion.. Dunno If I will eventually see the movie..since I guess only the Hindi version is coming to Delhi and I hate that one already. A) coz I hate dubbed stuff and b) any song with the word “anukan” in the lyrics and you have me running to the nearest exit!!! Even with Mohit Chauhan at the vocals! (And dude you have no idea how much i love Rahman and Mohit both!) Haven’t heard the Tamil songs but completely disliked the Hindi ones. I liked the one you uploaded though..will try and listen to the Tamil songs…
But you got that right buddy, no matter whether the movie sucks or rocks, the man is a star.. He does not look 60 in the movie at all! Romancing someone his daughter’s age put me off I guess..but then that’s just me ( I admit Nishabd made me wanna puke!).. Might..just might watch it if I can catch the Tamil version..but the Hindi one? NO WAY!!! :P:P:P

    • September 30, 2010 3:27 pm

      Welcome to V-Lokam ! 😀

the songs are horrible in Hindi because of the lyrics, I totally agree ! after listening to the tamil version, I just couldnt stand it ! 😀

I know; where does that guy hide all his age ! when you see him off screen; he looks totally different too ! perhaps, there is no limits for makeup on Rajni ! 😀

what to do! but thats a world wide issue, I guess. Even in the west, actors who are above 50 ‘romance’ with actresses who are in their 20s 😀 😀

      • September 30, 2010 3:52 pm

Yea..but in the West those in their 50’s and 60’s still look HOT offscreen! Dunno how! But they do! I mean look at George Clooney! He’s dishy as ever! 😉 Rajni is like obviously ols the minute he is not on the silverscreen..that kinda steps up the puke quotient I guess.. Same is the case with Amitabh Bachchan n Rajesh Khanna, Dev anand and the whole kellavan party! Makes me go eek eek eek..

Vim : yeah, thats there !! I almost puked watching lalettan and bhavana in Sagar Alias Jacky 😀 😀 😀

Perhaps they shud be botoxing too! (I invented a verb! Yaiyee!) The lyricist of the hindi version should be shut in a room with Reshammiya singing “Junoon” on full blast for 24 hours straight! That would teach him how it feels to have your ears assaulted! Pandaaram! Even the trailer makes me want to break my TV! :/

Vim : LOL; and you had to drag that wolf (himesh) into this ! 😀 😀 😀 But I agree, thats probably the worst way to torture anybody !! 😀

Rajnikanth’s make-up artist should be felicitated and given national awards by the dozen! Pulliyaanu Pulli! 😀

Vim : I know !!! But I guess Rajnikanth will win the national award next year then. If Amitabh won for his ‘performance’ in Paa with all that makeup on his ‘head’, I think even Rajni can ! 😀 😀 😀 😀

        • September 30, 2010 3:53 pm

By eek eek eek I was referring to when they romance ladies less than half their age divided by 2! 😀

  24. September 29, 2010 12:11 pm

Brilliant rendition, Vims..as always! Somehow when I hear you sing I forget to be mean to you. So its your lucky day today, Vimmoos 😀

As for the songs from Enthiran..haven’t heard the tamil version yet, until now that it. This is the first one I’ve heard. But I liked the songs from Robot, I think I did mention to you in a previous post that I particularly liked the ‘kilimanjaro song’ :). But yes, agree with you ARR has not been upto the mark with his compositions for this film. I hated the songs of Raavan too.

I’m not too sure how well the movie will do. Sorry to say, but I’m not a big fan of Rajnikanth :(. And on top of that there is Aishwarya Rai too…eeeeeeewww!! But Rajni is Rajni..you have to give it to him for having such a stupendous fan following!!

    • September 30, 2010 3:24 pm

Keep listening to them all the time then; why do you have to be mean to me ?? 😀 😀 😀

ya, you did mention 😀 in my V-tunes post I guess ! 😀 😀 I never said ARR has not been upto the mark; I was defending his work ! 😀 😀 😀

yeah, Aish is the only put off in Endhiran ! 😀

      • September 30, 2010 8:32 pm

“A.R.Rahman music is not upto the expectations.” Oyi, does it not mean his music is not upto the mark?? Thats what I agreed with 😀

        • October 1, 2010 7:13 am

Ayyoo…deeps chechi/…didnt you read the line above that ????

“Coming back to the movie, there are a few negative thoughts about the movie that I wanted to address, like :” …. I was addressing those negative whatevers and “A.R.Rahman music is not upto the expectations” was one of them !!!! 😀 😀 😀 didnt you read whats written after that; I was defending the album throughout ! 😛 😛 😛

  25. September 29, 2010 12:12 pm

You are a very good singer… did anyone tell you that?

I cant wait for Robo to come out. I love Rajini, yes his movies are seriously unrealistic and the fights are you know way too ridiculous some times but the guy is amazing. He is a great actor and i love him. More than an actor I love the person he is. Its so rare that a huge star can be so simple and down to earth. Ahh… i can go on praising him. He is a great guy :). And i like Ash too… i think she is beautiful :). And oh, i never realized this 3 days ago that till date i have seen every movie is Shankar and liked every movie of his. And thats a surprise because i usually watch Bollywood and Hollywood movies more :P.

You hated Raavan? I love Ranjha Ranjha even today. I had that as a caller tune for days :P. Other than that song, I m not so crazy about other songs.

    • September 30, 2010 3:22 pm

      LOL …thanks for listening Harini ! 😀

ya, thats the whole fun of Rajni movies; we know what we are getting into while entering the theatre. All fun and no worry ! 😀 😀 😀 and yes, I didnt mention about his off screen image, because people might question me if I know him personally and all that he shows is probably a media image ! Its better to keep mum at times, na? 😀 😀 😀

Ranjha Ranjha was the only song I liked; but again, didnt stay long. I liked the tamil version of the song more; Shankar Mahadevan rocked and Javed sucked ! 😀

  26. September 29, 2010 2:33 pm

Loved your recorded song.. I wanted to comment yest but then could not completely read your post yest (especially the Rajni part of it :P) I will not take the risk of watching the movie since I feel it is just a rip-off of I-robot and Bicentennial man and yeah I loved both of those movies because they were originals, based on a book by a great author. I dont think it is hypocrisy that I dont watch Indian movies, because what Indian movies lack is originality and creativity.. most of them are copied from Hollywood and then from other language movies.. And I hated Raavan’s music except for Behne De.. Loved that song for some reason..

    • September 29, 2010 2:33 pm

Another reason for skipping the movie is Aishwarya 😉 Cant stand her 😀

      • September 30, 2010 3:19 pm

        Thanks for listening 🙂

LOL, why do you have such feelings ? Take it from me; Robot and the movies you mentioned are as different as chalk and cheese. You never believe our Indian directors when they come up with an original story, kya ?? 😀 😀 😀 moreover, the director Shankar is known for his original screenplay and has never even lifted a single scene in any of his movies ! Regional movies dont copy from elsewhere and even if they do, they credit it openly. and as i said, Indian movies are just not Bollywood. I hope you watch some of the regional movies and then generalise that Indian movies lack originality and creativity ! 😀 😀

  27. September 29, 2010 9:20 pm

I didn’t like anything about Raavan either.. All hype no stuff!

Your voice is superb.. Good experiment. I liked it a lot 🙂 When’re Shruthi & you singing a duet!! Congrats on your awards.. Eavesdropper huh.. I must be wary 😛

    • September 30, 2010 7:58 am

      shruthi? who is that? 😮
Shouldnt it be Lakshmi.. ahem ahem

    • September 30, 2010 3:15 pm

      Thanks a lot lostie ! 😀

Very soon you will get the announcement ! 😀 😀 😀

      @ Avada : Shruthi is a blogger ! 😀 😀 😀 now stop making ‘ripples’ in my otherwise happy family ! 😀 😀 😀

    • October 6, 2010 11:37 pm

Lostworld kannaa, all busy people, whatodoo. busy peoples dont have time to sing with small peoples like me :p

  28. September 30, 2010 1:12 am

Bro.. I didn’t liked your version of this song 😦 I think the problem is with mixing.. whenever ur voice is coing up music is almost off and it gives a vague feel 😦

I didn’t liked the Raavanan album.. but Endhiran grew up on me now and I love almost all the songs.. even the Kadhal anukkal which I considered very slow…

I am a big fan of Superstar and I feel there are only 2 stars in cine world who can make you sit through a dumbest movie.. one is superstar and other is Jackie Chan.. both of them have amazing comic sense.. And for sure Rajini rocks in trailers too.. he looks young and Aishwarya rai seems to be a perfect match 😀 😀

And yeah.. many were always cribbed about Indian movies.. and I myself done that when I started watching English movies.. but now I understood we have our own flavour… nobody can give family stories and pakka masala movies like us 😀 😀 And there are some real gems too.. Now-a-days I am entering theatres with no expectations and I am able to enjoy movies better.. Loved ‘Naan mahan alla’ and ‘Boss engira baskaran’ very much 🙂 🙂

    • September 30, 2010 3:10 pm

yeah, the beats go down completely in my part and comes up again when the girl sings; the continuity is lost, I know. But cant help it; thats how the software can create the karaoke ! 😀 😀

ya, Raavanan was ARRs mistake ! 😀

Exactly; though Im not a fan of both the actors, you get highly entertained when you watch their movies !

There are a lot of regional movies too Kanagu; it would be great if you could watch them and also review them ! and no, I didnt mean Kinnaarathumbigal ! 😀 😀 😀 😀

  29. September 30, 2010 11:21 am

You must have taken lot of effort to insert your voice with other voices here. I was able to understand the words better in your version than ARR’s original version. Yes, this movie needs this type of song. But this not my song:(

    • September 30, 2010 3:07 pm

listen to it a few times, I guess like the other ARR songs, this one too will grow on you 😀 😀

  30. September 30, 2010 3:08 pm

So you’ve officially gone crazy??? Praising Rajnikanth and his movies and acting talent openly on your blog??? I only believe the text in BOLD such as:

    3) Endhiran will be just another Indian movie of no logic, bad graphics and with people flying all over

Seriously, you now comparing Rambo with Robot!

But I’ll see the movie! Definitely. Because it’ll make a great review 😉

    • September 30, 2010 3:14 pm

Good for you. Btw, try watching the tamil version if you really want to. watching a dubbed version is of no use, the essence is lost in the dialogues itself ! Imagine, a james bon movie dubbed in Hindi ! 😀 😀

You write reviews only to tear apart a movie ?? 😀 😀 😀

LOL, you are one of those wannabes na, who hasnt seen the best of Rajnis movies but still want to criticize him ?? 😀 😀 😀 😀

      • October 1, 2010 5:03 pm

the best Rajni movie I’ve watched is….. Chalbaaz and Hum.

I’d love to watch a good Rajni movie and eat my words back. Please tell me one where he isn’t doing crazy… I’ll try to find subtitles

        • October 1, 2010 8:28 pm

Try watching Sri Raghavendra, Bhuvana oru kelvikuri, Moondru mugam, Aarilirundu arubadu varai, Netrikann, Dalapathy…oh there are more ! theres no use watching the dubbed version though !

          • October 2, 2010 2:34 pm

Ok tell me the best. I’ll watch that one first – And please, don’t recommend a comedy. Recommend a serious one.

  31. September 30, 2010 7:20 pm

    Nice Vimmuuu! 😀
reading the rest of the post now! The song is awesome as usual! 😉

  32. September 30, 2010 10:28 pm

i dint hear it on earphones… it still sounded good ! 😛 😛
i hardly watch movies.. and the chances of my watching endhiran are less than zero…bhasha will be a big problem u see….so….how’ve u been otherwise? i’ve been away so long, it almost feels strange to be back in the blog world! lol..

    • October 1, 2010 7:19 am

      Oh,…thanks for listening ! 😀 😀

      Hmmm…you should wait for the subtitled version then ! 😀 😀 😀

I have been ok. Welcome back; glad to see the likes of you coming back to the blog world ! 😀

  33. September 30, 2010 10:47 pm

So the new trend is holding contests in one’s blog eh? 🙂 And curiously you are the winner. 😛
